balbek bureau
balbek bureau is an award-winning architecture and interior design studio founded by Slava Balbek and Borys Dorogov. The studio designs corporate, commercial, residential and cultural spaces in Europe, Northern America and Asia.
The bureau's portfolio features the 906 World Cultural Center in San Francisco, the Grammarly office in Kyiv, the Kyiv Food Market food hall and the Home. Memories installation in Antarctica. Our past projects have been awarded the Interior Design Best of Year, the Architecture MasterPrize and the IIDA Global Excellence awards.
The bureau has always been juggling commercial and non-profit projects. The team has worked on an accessible design guide and handled the ‘Chornobyl. Journey’ multimedia exhibition scenography.
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale war on Ukraine, we have been eager to help our country with our expertise. Two weeks into the invasion, we started working on the RE:Ukraine Housing project, which gave rise to the following RE:Ukraine System initiatives.
balbek bureau’s social projects have been featured at the TED@BCG, the Clinton Global Initiative, the Ukraine Recovery Conference and the Oxford Human Rights Festival events. The projects were presented to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine’s Ministry for Restoration and the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection of the Kyiv City State Administration.
The organization was founded by Slava Balbek – a prominent Ukrainian architect and military volunteer, balbek bureau’s CEO and co-founder. The implementation of the RE:Ukraine System projects is handled by balbek bureau’s CSR department.
